That's a very interesting blog. I've been wrestling with this issue myself recently,and especially the question, 'what is the purpose of preaching.' I definitely agree with him that it is not just about presenting truth...and also that it must be grounded in the Bible because too often I see that preachers have their own agenda and simply reference the Bible as almost a token gesture...or at least make it look that way.
ReplyDeleteWhat do I mean by preaching? I think Preaching is a journey, drawing people in and taking them with you as you explore God's word with reference to his world, arriving at a point of response.

Do we arrive at a point of response or understanding which leads to responding? Sorry, I am not sure what you mean by response.
