The cross is essential and not for compromise.

All in all, our ministers provide a look at the type of church we are entering into. A lazy, unkept, and quite minister is less likely to draw in the non believer. Which hinders the proclamation of the gospel. I am talking in perspective of society.

So should the aesthetics of church be for promoting an inviting atmosphere for the nonbeliever?

**disclaimer on wrongful use of language. I definitely agree with him that it is not just about presenting truth...and also that it must be grounded in the Bible because too often I see that preachers have their own agenda and simply reference the Bible as almost a token gesture...or at least make it look that way.

What do I mean by preaching? However, wouldn't you worry if they are ONLY coming for superficial reasons? I think we're wary of promoting our appearance/personality for fear that we might "empty the cross of its power" (and we might look a bit Hillsong). It seemed no one would talk about the gospel, or were less willing to share their Christian views except through Church events. Also how many non Christians do our Church goers hang out with?
Church does need to be attractive. Big problem for many churches is that their services are so boring, or lacking something that makes is welcoming and loving.
Can we fix this?
